Maybe, but after admitting defeat with horizon worlds and asserting that meta's metaverse was webxr all along. I'm not sure it wasn't. They might have had more than one plan. I mean, they used to have Palmer Lucky, that definitely would have been the plan at some stage, and still is in the minds of most of their OG VR people.

Unfortunately, assessing this would require me to survey meta's brand communications about what their metaverse is, which i am not interested in doing.

it'll be in vr by 2035 but meta lost their chance almost as soon as they took it.
