Resolution criteria

This market resolves to YES if Stephen Colbert files the necessary paperwork with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) to run for President. Otherwise, it resolves to NO.

Resolution will be determined by official announcements from Stephen Colbert or his representatives, or by documentation available via the Federal Election Commission website: https://www.fec.gov/data/candidates/?office=P&election_year=2028.

Background

Stephen Colbert, host of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, famously ran a satirical campaign for President in 2008, where he sought to appear on the ballot in South Carolina. While he has frequently engaged in political commentary and satire regarding presidential elections, he has never pursued a legitimate candidacy for the office.
