Hate to bring up "present rate, no singularity" but for very good or bad outcomes of superintelligence he'll likely either become immortal or be wiped out with the rest of us on Earth. Maybe he could try escaping to Mars but there'll be no resupply from Earth and/or Skynet will follow him there. It would essentially be a burial on Mars before it's all converted to paperclips, too.
