Global food systems are under increasing pressure from climate change, population growth, geopolitical conflicts, supply chain disruptions, and rising energy costs. This market explores whether a significant global food shortage will materialise by 2030 — and whether investing now in food manufacturers, farms, and agricultural stocks (e.g. ADM, Bunge, Deere & Co, Nutrien) represents a smart long-term investment strategy.

Key risk factors:

- Climate change reducing crop yields

- Water scarcity in agricultural regions

- Geopolitical conflicts disrupting grain exports

- Growing global population demand

- Energy costs raising fertiliser and food production costs

Resolves YES if by end of 2026 a recognised global body (UN/FAO/World Bank) declares a major food security crisis affecting 500M+ people AND agricultural/food stocks outperform S&P 500 by 20%+.

i like this market! the use of these criteria together makes things quite interesting...

can you talk about how you classify "agriculture/food stocks" and if it's only ones that currently exist or what exists at market close?

vendeu Ṁ10 NO

How does one bet, if one disagrees one follows from the other. Shortages could lead to companies being nationalized, thus making investing in them risky.

@JussiVilleHeiskanen we should ask Bill Gates :) he is the biggest farm land ...........
