The last states admitted were Alaska and Hawaii in 1959

This market will resolve YES if a 51st state is officially admitted to the Union before December 31, 2028, 11:59 PM ET. This requires:

• Passage of an admission act by Congress

• Presidential signature (or congressional override of a veto)

• Completion of any conditions set forth in the admission act

• Official proclamation of statehood

The market will resolve NO if no new state is admitted by the deadline.
