@JoshuaB to be clear, the question says "franchise", so this will only resolve that way if the producers of the franchise announce that she has the permanent role.

@PeterWildeford this is surprising to me: "Daniel Craig has retired as James Bond. This question is looking for the next lead performer in the franchise. Technically they don't have to be 007 or named James Bond as they could deviate from this exact formula." Lashana was never named as the lead of the franchise, and this question was written after No Time To Die was released.
