When will BYD vehicles be available for legal purchase or lease in the US?

The vehicle must be manufactured by BYD.
The purchase/lease must be completed entirely within the US in a reasonably straightforward way.
The vehicle must be conventionally legal to operate on US roads.
The date resolution will be the time when a payment has been made and the car is delivered.

I regard this as a fairly objective criterion and may bet on this market. However if the resolution appears to me to be even moderately subjective I will sell my holdings at market price before resolution.

Would this resolve yes if there was a BYD service willing to import the car and do the paperwork as long as you were willing to pay more than two times what the car would normally sell for?

@TonyBaloney Hm, I think that would depend on whether the service were run by BYD itself (or a subsidiary). An independent business running the cars up from, e.g., Mexico would not count (I believe some such services already exist, although in a grey-market style) unless affiliated in some way with BYD.
