What counts as a well? If they dig a pit/mine to harvest subsurface ice, does that count as a well?

@JamesF Does this also mean that an artificial well where the water was brought over from earth but is being stored underground will count?

Does the food need to grow in the Martian soil? Would it count if someone grew a soybean plant in a pot inside a greenhouse?

@capablemonkey Not necessarily Martian soil. But also maybe a bit bigger than just a soybean plant. I’m thinking food with the intention of eating it.
