So I currently spend $30/month across two plans (Claude and Github Copilot). I'm also lucky enough to get Gemini Pro for free. I'm running into usage limits on Claude and my gf and I are thinking of sharing the $200/month Claude Max plan, perhaps when my free Gemini plan expires in the next couple months. But sharing is really annoying, and this would also be pretty expensive. Ummm, what's the current best cost/usage plan or scheme out there?
@bens If you're hitting Pro limits only occasionally, just buy extra usage. It's billed at API rates, which are somewhere between 2x-5x per token compared to the tokens you get in a plan, but your increment will still be less than $180/mo. Or maybe have your gf get her own Pro.
If that's not enough, you either bite the bullet and get two Max (or Max for you and Pro for her, if the pattern is true in your case) or start playing with model optimization using something like opencode.
@EspenJohannesen I mean right now they are offered so cheaply because the companies want to outcompete one another
@MaxA yeah I had a similar question. A lot of people I know are spending several thousand a month on AI tools but it's at work on work projetcs.
@MaxA feel free to like mentally discount whatever credits you might have otherwise gotten if you couldn’t get it from free at work or something? Idk
